I was excited to come to the City Commission Meeting on October 16, 2017 to see the city voted on gender neutral bathrooms. I think what I was experiencing in Bozeman is an important moment in history of civil right. Transgender people are particularly vulnerable and the city is trying to support them by establishing gender neutral restrooms instead of the traditional men’s or women’s restrooms.
Also, exceeding the bathroom issue, I can see the effort of the city to create a community that value each person, even the minority, for who they are. And that’s the attitude that convinces me that Bozeman is an ideal destination for all, without discrimination.
