Derby Breakfast Party with the Governor

May 05, 2018, I have a great cultural experience with the Derby Breakfast party in Frankfort city, Kentucky. Kentucky Derby is the 144th annual festival of horse racing.

The 2018 Derby Celebration offered me and Francis excitement, and cultural experience. We have experienced to see many things: tasting Kentucky’s food, Pedal for the Posies, marathon, live blue grass music, etc.

Luckily, I had a great honor to meet and speak in person with the Governor of Kentucky state Matt Bevin. Surprisingly, the governor said he has two best friends. One of his best friend is a Cambodian, and another is a Filipino.

Since 1936, Kentuckians have enjoyed the tradition of beginning their Derby Day in the Capital City. Since 2011, the Governor’s Derby Celebration (formerly known as the Governor’s Derby Breakfast) has been held in Historic Downtown Frankfort.

Marathon, and the “Pedal for the Posies” were sport activities that encourage young people to do sport and promote healthy life style.

In the evening, Francis and I were honor to be invited by the Frankfort City Manager Cindy Steinhauser to visit live horse racing at Keenland, Lexington, Kentucky.
