A fun and exciting side of my work is I get to explore the remote place with natural landscape and resources in Cambodia. When posting those photos, people feel jealous with the places I have been to. It is one side of a coin, but I learn about struggle and livelihood of indigenous and vulnerable people there, and how sustainable development should be. This makes me love my work, and how it could make the changes into better ones.
Applying for Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) for environmental sustainability cohort is a challenge and what my work inspiring me. I still remembered when I read my email that I had been selected for this Fall 2018 Program. It is opening window for me to learn about policy engagement and practices on public participation and environmental safeguards. During the pre-departure orientation with the YSEALI Fall 2018 Cambodia, I get to learn some of American culture, and I am encouraged to be open and engaged. I do come with questions and experience from my work to share. Ask me any questions!
I mostly travel by myself. Tonight will be the same. The beginning of my journey may start alone, but not long I am going to make friends and meet with the fellows from Southeast Asia countries and around the world too. I cannot wait to learn from the YSEALI fellows, share and explore professionally and culturally. See you soon America.
