The Professional Fellows Program (PFP) and YSEALI (Young South East Asian Leaders Initiative) are sponsored by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’, Professional Fellows Division and administered by American Councils for International Education. These programs are Civic Engagement, Economic Empowerment, Governance and Society. The professional fellow program for Environment and Sustainable Development selected a Timorese for the first time to join a month long fellowship at US. He was very exited when he was selected to be part of this program. He has a dream when he was still a childhood back in his home town Baguia, Timor-Leste.
He remembered his gold is to fly to America one day. So once he was selected to this program he was overwhelm to take part of this program. He is experiencing for the first time flying with a plane that takes more than 15 hours on plane. He would make his time available to learn more in U.S. as much as he can. He can also share something interesting about Timor-Leste to the Americans who will work closely with him throughout the day on the chosen field of learning.
