The first thing that came to mind when I received an email from ICMA saying that I was chosen as one of the YSEALI Professional Fellows was “would I still be able to join this fellowship program now that I’m pregnant?”
Long story short, I am so thankful to be blessed with a low-risk pregnancy and very supportive host organizations. Were it not the case, I wouldn’t have been able to do as much. So here I am in the United States, starting my 5-week internship with City of Dallas, Texas.

Mind you, it doesn’t mean doing whatever I want though, I take care of myself and the baby cautiously and always pray for a healthy and safe pregnancy.
Sending hugs and wishes to all moms-to-be out there and to all professional fellows.
Beautiful! Glad to know the bump couldn’t stop you and that you have an amazing support system!
I’m also lucky to have a low-risk pregnancy that allows me to continue with my work.
We can still achieve our dreams with the bumps!
Best wishes to you Christine!
