After final announcement on 30 July 2019 that I was selected as a representative from Laos under the theme of sustainable development and environment hosted by International County Management Authority (ICMA).
In 13 September 2019, I participated the pre-departure orientation, held at American center in Vientiane. The objectives were providing basic information for Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) professional fellows program and guided newly members. Additionally, they invited the alumni to join in order to share their experiences.
The PDO separated into 3 sessions such as introduction about YSEALI professional fellows program by program coordinator, sharing experience from alumni in each theme and Q&A.
I have learnt how about logistics, financial management and deliverable during the program from alumni and Vientiane US embassy (project coordinator).
Additionally, I joined ICMA-YSEALI pre-departure call by ICMA team (Mr. Tony Green and Ms. Kara Elser). They provided very clear information of the programs including logistics, finance, insurance, items to bring with, deliverable and Do and Don’t during the program.
After participating 2 Pre-departure orientations, they were very well-prepared for me to explode the 2019 Fall YSEALI professional fellowship program in the US for 5 weeks. Let’s explode and enjoy staying in the US.
